Knitting 101 @LAU

Learn the basics of knitting for free at your local library!

Supplies will available for loan on a first-come-first-serve basis. We will be using knitting needles in size 8 (5.0 mm) and yarn in weight 4 (worsted), if you would prefer to bring your own.

Christmas Craft Night @LAU

Join us on December 8th at the Laurel-Jones County Library for a crafty Christmas event! We’ll have different crafts suitable for every age group from toddler to elder!

Movie on the Lawn @ELL

Join us at the Ellisville Public Library for a free showing of Hocus Pocus 2! Bring your own lawn chair and blankets!

Concessions available for purchase.

Reading with Axel @LAU

FREE and open to all children from 2nd through 6th Grade.

Improve your child’s reading skills the fun way by reading aloud to our new Book Buddy.

Certified therapy dog Axel listens as children read aloud from a book of their choice. Children are welcome to bring a book from home or choose one from the children’s library.

Reading sessions are 15 minutes long.

Registration is required.

Spooky Art Class (Ticketed) @LAU

Learn to draw with our spooky art class this October! Supplies provided. Tickets available for purchase on our Eventbrite!

Ages 8+. Children under the age of 14 must have a parent in the building at all times.

Back to School Mini-Golf @LAU

Celebrate back to school with a round of mini-golf at the library!

Kids 18 and under get in free! Adults pay $5 each. Snacks available for purchase.

Last round will be at 7:30 pm.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Winter Tournament @LAU

Test your skills at the library’s seasonal Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament! The last player standing will win a prize!

Open for ages 10-17.

Rules:

  • Registration is from 8 am-9 am on the day of the tournament.
    • Players must be present to register.
    • No new players will be permitted after registration.
  • All players will fight 1-on-1 on the library’s Nintendo Switch using the library’s controllers.
    • Please do not bring your personal Nintendo Switch or controllers.
  • In the event of an odd number of players, some players will need to fight a non-player character to advance.
  • Players must use the same character (chosen during registration) throughout the entire tournament.
    • Please note that player characters will be limited to who is unlocked on the library’s Nintendo Switch prior to the tournament.
      • A list will be available at registration.
    • Color palette swaps are only available if multiple players choose the same character.
      • The event coordinator will randomly choose these color palette swaps.

Rules:

  • Registration is from 10 am-11 am on the day of the tournament.
    • Players must be present to register.
    • No new players will be permitted after registration.
  • Tournament starts at 11 am. Tournament ends when a winner is determined. This can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours depending on amount of registered players.
    • Any player who leaves before or during the tournament will automatically forfeit.
  • All players will fight 1-on-1 on the library’s Nintendo Switch using the library’s controllers.
    • Please do not bring your personal Nintendo Switch or controllers.
  • In the event of an odd number of players, some players will need to fight a non-player character to advance.
  • Players must use the same character (chosen during registration) throughout the entire tournament.
