Chessmates Chess Social & Cube Corner- all ages

Are you new to chess or cubing? Are you an old pro?  Or do you just like to play for fun?  Join us for our Checkmates chess group and our Cube Corner cubing group from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month in Laurel!  We have chessboards, chess pieces, and timers available for your use. You will need to bring your own cubes. Bring a friend or meet someone new to play a game and test your skills!  Library staff will usually be available for basic tutorials.  We also have some great new chess books for beginners, those needing to brush up their skills, and the complicated strategies of the pros.  As always, you are welcome to come to either location during open hours to play chess or any of our other board games.  Hope to see you at Checkmates & Cube Corner!
