Come join us at the Ellisville Public Library for a fun-filled event exploring the Unscary Side of Poetry. You don’t have to be scared of poetry….it can be fun….and profitable. Whether you’re a seasoned poet or just starting out, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to unleash their creativity and dive into the world of poetry. Our experienced instructors will guide you through various writing exercises and techniques to help you overcome any fears you may have about poetry. Information and exercises will focus on the newly released poetry categories of the 2025 Sprint Contest sponsored by The Mississippi Society. There is a $10 fee per person to attend the workshop. Part of an ongoing series of workshops by WRITER’S CAMP designed to help individuals learn new writing skills, build confidence as a writer, and offer publishing opportunities.

This workshop focuses on the power of words and making sure you as author have chosen the right word to use for your project, your audience, and your purpose.

Ghost Hunting at the Library @LAU

Join Magnolia State Paranormal on their quests to contact the spirits of the Laurel Library.

Eat at McAlister’s Deli today between 5 pm and 8 pm and a portion of the cost your meal will be donated to the library!

Back to School Mini-Golf @LAU

Celebrate back to school with a round of mini-golf at the library!

Kids 18 and under get in free! Adults pay $5 each. Snacks available for purchase.

Last round will be at 7:30 pm.
