How do I get a Library Card?
You will need to fill out an application for a library card. You will need a valid government-issued photo ID and proof of residence. For further information see To Obtain a Library Card on our Policies & Information page.
How do I renew the registration on my library card?
Upon the expiration of your registration, you will need to provide a valid government-issued photo ID and proof of residence if you’ve moved or if your registration is over 2 years expired to a clerk at the circulation desk.
How long can items be checked out?
Items can be checked out for a period of two weeks.
How do I renew my materials?
Your items will auto-renew assuming they meet the requirements. For further information on how to renew items out see Renewing Materials on our Policies & Information page.
How do I reserve a book?
You may place a request for books that are checked out by doing one of the following: Go to our Catalog, type what you are looking for in the search bar, after you locate the item, and then click Reserve; Place a request from one of the OPACs (online public access catalog) located near the Circulation Desk; or ask a staff member to place the request for you.
What do I do if I want a book you don’t have?
You can request a book that we do not have in our collection by either filling out a request slip at the circulation desk or by filling out a form on our catalog. We will attempt to borrow the book from other libraries through our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program. Please visit our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) page for more information, such as rules and limits, on borrowing books not owned by the Laurel-Jones County Library.

Can I return library material at either branch?
Yes, the Laurel Jones County Library System, Inc. has two locations. The headquarters, Laurel Jones County Library, is located in Laurel and the branch, Ellisville Public Library, is in Ellisville. Items can be borrowed from and returned to either location interchangeably.
How do I use the Public Access Computers (PAC)?
Patrons of the library with library cards in good standing are allowed 2 hours per day use of our public computers. For more information see Computers on our Policies & Information page.
Can I use computers if I live out of town?
Yes, if you are an out-of-county visitor you may use our public computers for five visits without a library card. You must have a valid government-issued photo ID. For more information see Computers on our Policies & Information page.
