Summer Reading Program Group Guidelines

To our community partners, daycare providers, and summer camp organizers,
We are thrilled to welcome the community back for another exciting Summer Reading Program! To ensure a safe, high-quality, and enriching experience for all our patrons, we have updated our attendance guidelines for large groups this season.
Reservations for Large Groups Due to limited room capacity and staffing levels, groups of 10 or more (including daycares, camps, and organized summer programs) are required to make a reservation in advance to attend our scheduled public programs based on availability.
Dedicated Group Opportunities We understand that our standard programming schedule may not always align with your group’s itinerary, or that our public sessions may quickly reach capacity. To better serve your students, we are pleased to offer Customized Group Visits on days when the library is less busy. These visits can include:
  • A dedicated Storytime tailored to your age group.
  • A guided Craft Activity led by our staff.
  • Reserved time for your students to explore age-appropriate collections.
  • Access to the downstairs Makerspace and STEAM items.
Program Availability & Limitations: Due to the high volume of interest from organizations across the community, we are limiting group visits to two scheduled sessions per month for each organization during the summer season. This ensures that we can provide equitable access to our staff and facilities for as many local children as possible.

We recommend reaching out at least 2 weeks in advance, as dates fill up quickly.
By scheduling a private session, you ensure your group receives our full attention in a space specifically designed for your needs.
We look forward to sharing the joy of reading with your group this summer!
Sincerely,
Karyn Walsh, Director
Laurel-Jones County Library System, Inc.
