Sensory Day @LAU

Looking for a sensory-friendly, inclusive library experience? Join us for a program specially created for individuals with special needs, along with their families and caregivers.

What to Expect:

  • Stories
  • Hands-on sensory activities
  • A calm, low-distraction environment
  • Access to a designated Chill Zone

We welcome individuals of all ages and abilities and strive to create a warm, supportive space for everyone.

 Please Note:

This is a special event for individuals with special needs and their caregivers.

The library will be closed to the general public during the program.

This is not a drop-off event—parents or caregivers must remain in the library at all times.

Come explore the world with us—just in a different way!

We want all our patrons to feel welcome. If you need special accommodations, please contact Karyn Walsh at 601-428-4313.

Special Olympics Young Athletes @LAU

Young Athletes is a sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities. The goal is to introduce children 2-7 years old to basic sport skills. Children participate in play geared to developing fine and gross motor skills, basic sports skills, learning, and social skills that they need as they age and advance in play.
