FAFSA Help Night @LJCL

Jones College will be at the library to help parents and students with filing FAFSA for financial aid. The event is free, but attendees must register to attend. You can register now on our Eventbrite.

The following must be done before the event to receive help:

To do:

Both parent and student will need an FSA ID. To get one, go to www.studentaid.gov. You must use a separate email and phone number for each account. The FSA ID is tied to your social security number, so if you have ever created one in the past, you will use the same one. It is important to ensure you put all information in carefully and accurately.

To bring:
• 2021 Entire Tax Return Packet
• 2021 W2s and/or 1099 from all employers
• Driver’s License or state-issued ID
• Cell phone (both parent and student)
• Student’s Chromebook or laptop (the library will have extras for those who do not have access to one)

Here are a few things to keep in mind:
We will need those documents for both the student and the parent.
Even if the student worked but did not file taxes, we will need the W2(s) and/or 1099s.
If the parent worked but did not file taxes, we will still need the W2(s) and/or 1099s.
If you did not work or file taxes, you will only need to bring your driver’s license or state-issued ID.

How to Publish with Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing Workshop (Ticketed) @LJCL

Pamela has used Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing to self-publish five books. It can be daunting when first learning how to maneuver through the KDP/AMAZON website and its templates. Pamela wants to show those interested in publishing how to use this free resource, discuss the pros and cons, provide tips on how to get started, discuss copyright issues, formatting options, and cover design choices. The focus will be on print options rather than e-books. Tickets on sale on our Eventbrite now.
